Why does my screen resolution look different from my OS settings?

Browsers report the physical pixel dimensions multiplied by the device pixel ratio (DPR). On a Retina/HiDPI display the DPR is 2 or 3, so the browser's screen.width may be half or a third of the native resolution reported by the OS.

What is the difference between screen resolution and viewport size?

Screen resolution is the total physical (logical) size of the monitor. The viewport is the portion of the screen the current browser window occupies after accounting for toolbars, scrollbars, and the OS taskbar.

Why is device memory shown as a rounded number?

The Device Memory API deliberately returns a coarse value (0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, or 8 GB) to prevent browser fingerprinting. The exact amount of RAM is not exposed.

Is any of this information sent to a server?
