What is error correction and which level should I choose?

Error correction lets a QR code be read even when part of it is obscured or damaged. Level L (7%) is smallest and best for clean digital use. Level M (15%) is the common default. Level Q (25%) is good when adding a logo overlay. Level H (30%) is highest and recommended when a large logo covers the centre.

How big should my logo be?

Keep the logo under 30% of the QR code area to avoid making it unreadable. At error correction level H, a logo covering up to 30% of the centre is fine. Use a square or circular logo with a white background for best results.

Is there a character limit for the text?

QR codes can hold up to about 4,296 alphanumeric characters, but the more data you encode the denser the QR becomes and the harder it is to scan. For URLs, shorter is always better.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. All QR code generation happens in your browser using the qrcode.js library. Your text or URL is never transmitted anywhere.
