Where is my data stored?

All data is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage on your device. Nothing is ever sent to any server. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser will remove your saved entries.

How does the master password encryption work?

When a master password is set, each password value is XOR-encrypted with a key derived from the master password before being saved to localStorage. This prevents plaintext passwords from being directly readable in browser developer tools.

Is this as secure as a dedicated password manager?

This tool is convenient for low-stakes use but is not a replacement for a dedicated password manager like Bitwarden or 1Password. The XOR encryption is lightweight and not cryptographically hardened. For critical accounts, use a dedicated, audited password manager.

Can I import my existing passwords?

Currently the tool supports manual entry and CSV export. CSV import is not built in, but you can add entries one by one. The export format is compatible with spreadsheet software.

1 Optionally set a master password to encrypt your vault.
2 Click 'Add Entry' and fill in site, username, password, and notes.
3 Use the search bar to filter entries by site or username.
4 Click the copy icon next to any password or username to copy it.
5 Click the trash icon to delete an entry.
6 Use the 'Export CSV' button to download a backup of all entries.
