The tool queries the free Zippopotam.us public API, which provides city, state, county, and coordinate data for all US ZIP codes. No API key is required.

Does it work for ZIP+4 codes?

Enter just the first 5 digits. The tool only uses the 5-digit base ZIP code for lookup.

How accurate are the coordinates?

Coordinates represent the centroid of the ZIP code area. They are accurate enough to place the ZIP on a map but may not correspond to a specific street address.

Can I look up Canadian or other postal codes?

This tool is optimized for US ZIP codes. For other countries, the underlying Zippopotam.us API supports additional country codes, but the interface focuses on the US.
